Apple today released some updated insight on what users can expect when its much anticipated iPhone officially ships on June 29th. In it’s press release, Apple stated that the iPhone will provide up to 8 hours of talk time, 10 days of standby time, 6 hours if internet use and 7 hours of video playback. Apple also announced that the surface of iPhone has been upgraded from a plastic to a premium quality glass surface to optimally help prevent scratches and sruffs. Here is what Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO had to say about the battery life and new surface.
“With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone’s battery life is longer than any other ‘Smartphone’ and even longer than most MP3 players … We’ve also upgraded iPhone’s entire top surface from plastic to optical-quality glass for superior scratch resistance and clarity.”
This all leads me to wonder if there will be that much of an event come launch day. I am sure they’ll do something, but wouldn’t you think that these type of features are things that Apple would love to wait and promote at a huge event come June 29th? I guess not.
